CSL Season Begins in June - Monday, May 11, 2009

During the regular season the league organizes competitions (called "meets") between the teams. There are two types of regular season meets:

Dual/Tri Meets - Competitive meets
- Held each Thursday during the regular season.
- Two or three teams participate in each meet
- Teams keep score.
- Stroke judges ensure the strokes are performed properly.
- Hosted by one of the competing teams

Monday Meets (or "B" meets) - Non-competitive meets
- Held most Mondays during the regular season
- Two or three teams participate in each meet
- The teams don't keep score. (Coaches often use these meets to get times for their swimmers in each event and to get additional experience for their swimmers)
- Stroke judges typically aren't assigned
- Hosted by one of the competing teams
- Some teams elect not to participate in the "B" meets.

About the Columbia Swimming League

The Columbia Swimming League is a recreational league for competitive swimming in the Columbia, SC area. Organized competiton occurs during the summer. Over 20 teams participate providing plenty of opportunity for kids from all over the midlands to be involved.

Teams compete in dual meets during June and early July, then the season culminates in a two-day City Meet in mid-July. The league is operated by volunteers from all teams.
